Personalised Arabic calligraphy, calendars and gifts · made in Amsterdam

The studio

A little street of doors, above a balcony in Amsterdam.

بلكونة: شرفة صغيرة فوق شارع صغير

Balacona Studio designs personalised Arabic calligraphy, calendars and family printables. Everything is sold through our Etsy shop, and the studio itself lives on this page: who we are, wholesale, creators, and your free printable.

خط وزليج

Calligraphy meets zellige

Every design pairs hand-set Arabic calligraphy with the geometric patterns of Moroccan tilework.

لغتان

Two languages, always

Arabic first, with English, Dutch, French or German beside it, so the whole family can read along.

تدقيق

Checked before release

Dates are checked against the Hijri calendar and every text is proofread before a design goes on sale.

Wholesale

For bookshops, schools and mosques.

We supply Islamic bookshops, schools, mosques and gift stores with the calendars, signs and certificates your customers already look for, in the language of your city. Balacona Studio is a small design studio in Amsterdam; our retail sales run through Etsy, and trade orders are prepared as a custom Etsy listing, so payment and delivery stay protected inside Etsy.

Four languages. English, Dutch, German and French editions, each with Arabic.

Personalisation at scale. Names for a whole class or congregation, each checked by hand.

Trade quantities. The full catalogue, printed and delivered or as digital files.

Ordering through Etsy. A custom listing with your total, confirmed before you pay.

Creators

Create with Balacona Studio.

We collaborate with small creators in family, home, faith and lifestyle content. The model is simple: gifted first, and sharing is always your choice. No contracts full of conditions, no scripts.

A product, gifted

Together we choose the design that fits your home or your family, and we send it to you as a gift.

Sharing is optional

If you love it, tell your audience in your own words. A post or a review is always optional and is never a condition of the gift.

Early sight, direct line

You see new designs before they launch, and you talk to the studio itself, not to an agency.

How to apply

1. Say hello: email us your profile links, your country and what you make.
2. Choose together: we suggest the design that fits you best.
3. Receive and decide: the gift arrives, and what you share is entirely up to you.

Honest labelling: if you post about a gifted product, please mark it as gifted or as an advertisement, as your platform and your country's rules require. We will never ask you to hide it.
